FEU Cavite held its 2nd Alumni Gathering last Oct. 7 at their gym. The event aimed to convene the FEU Cavite alumni across levels, i.e., elementary and high school graduates (prior to the implementation of the K to 12 Curriculum), senior high school graduates, and college.

Dr. Myrna P. Quinto (Executive Director) and Dr. Ildefonso R. Fulgar III (College Dean) opened the activity with inspirational messages.

Apart from catching up with the alumni, the event highlighted four major objectives, namely: (1) electing the interim officers of the FEU Cavite Alumni Association; (2) launching the FEU Cavite Alumni Tracer Study; (3) launching the FEU Cavite Alumni Card; and (4) presentation of proposed projects and activities.

The election of the interim officers is crucial to the success of the FEU Cavite Alumni activities as well as historical: crucial because this is a requirement to establish the alumni association legally; historical because this is the first time for the FEU Cavite Alumni community to elect its officials.

The following alumni were elected:

  • President, Juan Miguel A. Castañeda (BSBA Marketing Management, Batch 2015);
  • Vice President, Ms. Aumi Manansala, LPT, MA (BS Education, Batch 2014);
  • Secretary, Mr. Andre Lerma (BS Psychology, Batch 2023);
  • Treasurer, Ms. Maria Paula Lyn Abordo (BSBA Financial Management, Batch 2022);
  • Auditor, Ms. Leanette Faye Puno (BS Accountancy, Batch 2023).

Aside from electing the interim officers, the External Affairs Office officially launched the Alumni Tracer Study both for senior high school and college alumni. The instrument used was an adaptation of FEU Manila’s Alumni Tracer Study. The data that will be gathered from this assessment tool will be helpful in determining the strengths and areas to be improved, which will eventually lead to the development of data-driven decisions for improving the programs and services of FEU Cavite.

Another highlight of KwenTAMbuhay is the launching of the first-ever FEU Cavite Alumni Card, which became possible with the support of the FEU Alumni Relations Office. Celmer Santos (FEU Alumni Relations Office Director) presented that all perks and discounts provided to FEU Manila’s alumni are also extended to FEU Cavite’s alumni. The launching of the FEU Cavite Alumni card opens potential partnerships with local businesses in Cavite, which will help boost linkages and extension projects.

Finally, Dr. Matthew M. Nepomuceno (FEU Cavite External Affairs Officer) wrapped up the event by showing the different projects and activities that the alumni association will embark on. He clarified that apart from gathering and being reunited with each other, the alumni association will open doors for the alumni community to give back through its programs and activities.

KwenTAMBuhay concluded successfully because of the support and guidance of the FEU Alumni Relations Office. Moreover, the External Affairs Office was ably assisted by the entire FEU Cavite community, most especially by the Hospitality Management Department, headed by Pamela Rivera, the Tams Travel and Tours, headed by Grace Gison, Department Chair of the Tourism Department, as well as by Facilities and Technical Services, led by its Officer-in-Charge, Charles Laureles.

The FEU Cavite Student Council also assisted KwenTAMBuhay through Mackenzie Longno and Jorge Joshua Bautista, who served as the masters of ceremony.
