FEU Communication Alumna feted the 2020 NextGen in Franchising Philippines Competition

ChizMozza, the first fried MOZZARELLA CHEESE food stand in the Philippines and established by Marydae Hannah Ramos, a 2013 AB communication graduate from Far Eastern University, was declared a winner of the 2020 NextGen in Franchising Philippines Competition. Four years since its inception, Chizmozza already has almost 40 outlets in various locations.

Hannah got the idea of putting up ChizMozza after seeing a video on Facebook about mozzarella sticks which are normally expensive and served only in restaurants. Starting the business is not a walk in the park for her since she has to leave her job and do everything from designing a logo, getting the right equipment, developing the recipe, and putting up a system on how to operate the kiosk. However, her hard work paid off when she opened her first store at Fisher Mall in 2016 and generated a revenue three times more than her projection.

Sadly, like any other business, the pandemic affected ChizMozza due to mall closure and limited foot traffic. But it did not stop Hannah from continuing and launched the “Call to Deliver” service so that the customers can directly order from them.

The 2020 NextGen in Franchising Philippines Competition is organized by the Philippine Franchise Association and Franchise Asia Philippines.
