Three Far Eastern University (FEU) alumnae were recognized individually for making an impact in their respective fields.

Lourdes “Lou” Gutierrez-Alfonso is recognized for being the only Filipino leader in Forbes’ 50 over 50 List. The 50 over 50 highlights women doing their most innovative, impactful work at 50, 60, 70 and beyond. “Lou” is the current president of Megaworld Corporation, the Philippines’ most awarded township developer. She finished her BS Accountancy at FEU in 1984. In 2018, “Lou” was awarded as one of the Outstanding Alumni in the 2018 FEU Green and Gold Awards. Currently, she sponsors several FEU Institute of Accounts, Business, and Finance students through the Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso Scholarship Program.

Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman is conferred the Outstanding Filipina in the Field of Public Service at the Gawad Filipino Awards. This prestigious award honors exceptional Filipinos whose dedication, passion, and work ethic make a meaningful impact on Philippine culture, tradition, and society. Secretary Pangandaman joined the DBM as an Assistant Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and as Undersecretary from 2018 to 2019. She also served as Assistant Governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas before being appointed as Secretary of the DBM in 2022. With her diverse and fresh perspective, she vowed to support the Philippine government in its pursuit of broad-based and inclusive economic recovery. Secretary Pangandaman earned her BA in Economics from FEU in 1997 and was honored as one of FEU’s Outstanding Alumni at the Green and Gold Awards in 2023.

Dr. Rosalind L. Wee received the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG): Decent Work and Economic Growth Pioneer Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence and Social Responsibility at the Icons of Change Awards 2025. This prestigious annual program recognizes individuals, groups, and institutions that make significant contributions to the community. Dr. Wee, a proud FEU alumna, graduated with a degree in AB Mathematics in 1967, was later conferred a Doctorate in Humanities (honoris causa) in 2017, and was awarded one of the Outstanding Alumni in the 2018 FEU Green and Gold Awards. She is renowned for her pioneering work in the export of dried seaweeds, which are processed into carrageenan—a key ingredient in preserving food products such as hams, sausages, and ice creams. Expanding her entrepreneurial ventures, she has also made a mark in real estate, with her W buildings strategically located in BGC and Makati. Beyond business, Dr. Wee is deeply involved in various socio-civic and non-government organizations, including the Philippine Red Cross, Go Negosyo, FEU Alumni Foundation, and the Philippine Federation of Local Councils of Women.
