Hagonoy, Bulacan – In response to the devastating aftermath of Super Typhoon Egay, Far Eastern University (FEU) has extended a helping hand to the affected communities in Hagonoy, Bulacan. The university, through the collaborative efforts of the FEU Alumni Relations Office, FEU Student Development Office, and Tamaraw Volunteers, distributed relief bags to 250 families that had been severely impacted by the said typhoon.
Super Typhoon Egay’s wrath left a trail of destruction, with 14 Bulacan towns grappling with the aftermath of the southwest monsoon-induced heavy flooding. Hagonoy was one of the towns significantly affected by the calamity, with hundreds of families currently being assisted by St. Anne Parish in terms of relief and shelter.
The proactive response of FEU reflects the university’s commitment to social responsibility and aiding the communities during times of crisis.
FEU has consistently shown dedication to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through various corporate social responsibility programs. This initiative highlights the university’s humanitarian efforts and showcases its commitment to environmental conservation. Programs like Kabataan Para sa Kalikasan (KALI) Camp and Save the Tamaraw Project demonstrate FEU’s contribution to SDG 13 and 15, which focus on climate action.
The efforts of FEU were made possible through the generosity and support of alumni donors and volunteers who rallied behind the cause. Their contributions have provided much-needed assistance to the affected families and communities. FEU acknowledges their invaluable support and expresses gratitude for their dedication to making a positive impact.
