‘Be Brave’ were the last words Nicanor Reyes, Sr. spoken to his daughter, Lourdes Reyes Montinola, before he was killed by retreating Japanese forces. This is the phrase that, over the years, has become the embodiment of the collective stories of the people in our community, and it is our duty to help them move forward.
With the support of the alumni community and partner organizations, FEU funds an average of over 3,500 scholars every year, providing about 11% of the total student population. And to ensure the availability of scholarships and financial aid for the next generation of tamaraws, the FEU Alumni Relations Office (ARO), in partnership with Nicanor Reyes Memorial Foundation (NRMF), launched the Named-Scholarships campaign to build up funds and encourage alumni to leave a continuing legacy.
This fundraising program aims to generate One Hundred Million pesos by 2028 or at the time of the centennial celebration of the University. 70% of the donations will be allocated as an endowment fund to ensure that the program can continuously support financially challenged but deserving students in the future. The remaining 30% will be made immediately available to the current and would-be scholars for the school year.
For a minimum amount of PHP 5,000,000 (one-time donation or spread it up to six years), an individual, class, group, or batch can have a scholarship named after them.
