The dean of the Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS) since July 2019, Dr. Rowena Capulong-Reyes takes over the helm of Corporate Affairs, the office with which she was affiliated when she joined FEU in July 2014 as manager of the Marketing and Communications Office.
Doc Wen, as she is fondly called, is a well-known public relations and communications specialist. Her other engagements include, among others, being: a country representative of the Asia Media Communication Information Center, a member of the executive committees of the Asia-Pacific Communication Alliance and the Metro Manila Film Festival (as well as chair of the latter’s education committee); and president of the Philippine Association of Communication Educators and ex-officio chair of its board of trustees. In addition, she is a referee in various local and international academic journals and a social-advocate consultant in a number of private and voluntary sector organizations.
In a prior life, Dr. Capulong-Reyes worked at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran, serving in various capacities: she was the concurrent dean of the College of Liberal Arts and marketing communication consultant of the Office of the Rector, the founding director of the Institute of Communication; and manager of the Media Center.
Her academic degrees are: a Ph.D. in Development Studies, a major in Socio-Political and Cultural Development (University of Santo Tomas), an MA in Communications Management major in Corporate Communications (Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication), and a BA in Communication Arts (University of Santo Tomas)
