Fifty young leaders from Occidental Mindoro participated in the Kabataan Para sa Kalikasan (KALI) Camp 2022, which was held in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, last October 27-28. Delegates were brought together to capacitate their leadership skills, fight for environmental protection, and promote Tamaraw conservation.
During the first day of the event, guest speakers Ms. Maria Teresita David of the Tamaraw Conservation Program, Mr. Celmer Santos of FEU ARO, Ms. Meryl Jalani of MPH, Mr. Val Vestil of AYEJ, and Mr. Jerus Reyes of the Human Helping Humans Initiative shared their knowledge about relevant topics on youth leadership, environment, and climate change.
Meanwhile, the delegates applied their learnings throughout the camp on the second day of the event as they pitched their project proposals about environmental conservation in Occidental Mindoro. As a result, three projects were selected and will be funded by partner benefactors.
This camp is an initiative of the FEU Volunteerism Services Office and FEU Alumni Relations Office in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-CENRO), Association of Young Environmental Journalists (AYEJ), and Millennials PH (MPH).
